Wearing a facial covering/non-medical mask in the community has not been proven to protect the person wearing it and is not a substitute for physical distancing and handwashing. However, it can be an additional measure you can take to protect others around you, even if you have no symptoms. Masks should completely cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides of the face without gaps. Fabric masks are NOT considered medical devices and have NOT been manufactured by a company that holds a Medical Device Establishment License (MDEL). These are NOT direct substitutes for N95, surgical or procedural masks, and are not FDA approved. Mask guidelines may change without notice. Check with your local health authority for up-to-date information.
